Note:
Zinc-air batteries reach their maximum performance only after activation. When the sealing tab is removed, atmospheric oxygen enters the battery and in combination with the electrolyte contained in the battery, the oxidation process is activated, which produces energy. In the off state, the battery may give a voltage measurement of about 1.05v.

Accidentally short-circuiting the battery, even for a second, may also reduce the battery voltage to a lower level. If this happens, it does not mean that the battery is exhausted but that it will take a few minutes for them to regain their voltage to the proper level. So giving the battery a few minutes will save you the cost of disposing of a battery that is capable of delivering a normal performance.
